I’ve got some stories people have fashioned into famous legends
From where they were once praised now I’ll heed warning
To future generations
With pure intentions I wore no protection
Not factoring in harsh consequences
And pain I’ve inflicted to body and spirit
Will just bear reminder to ill-fated judgements
So learn from this what you will
I offer up these life stories my memories instilled
In turn these messages to you
Can’t take back the whiplash that I put myself through
And I’ve spend some mornings beside perfect strangers
Whose names didn’t ring a bell
I made false promises in between kisses which would never be upheld
And these one night stands became part of my plan
But as I sobered up I felt like less of a man
Now I’ve settled down with a girl and I’ve found giving it all up
Means she’s worth keeping around
And these words will write novels that braver men will read
And ask themselves how could someone put themselves
Through all this torture and all this grief, oh
They’d say you’d have to be dumb to have lived all these events
But I see each one as a blessing in disguise
A life experience.
